Summary

Technical Author required in Fleet, Hampshire to improve the quality, consistency and timelines of our client's Product Documentation, while reducing the documentation workload on Marketing and Development staff.

Overview

• Maintain a coherent structure and style for user documentation across all our client's product by using the department's in-house style guide. Propose enhancements to this style and structure as appropriate.
• Act as editor for technical and marketing document update releases.
• Authorship of new technical and marketing documents.
• Create, communicate, implement and maintain plans for producing/maintaining documentation as requested.
• As time allows, the Technical Author will also assist in other areas, such as reviewing product usability and user Interfaces.

Requirements

• A good grounding in mobile telecommunications and software systems, and a fast learner.
• First class writing skills
• Competent user of Microsoft Word and Adobe FrameMaker: and experience of Macromedia RoboHelp and graphics handling packages.
• Honours degree or equivalent

Details

This role may involve some out of hours working especially around the time of a software release.

37.5 hour week

Salary

From £35,000 to £41,000
